A Little Bit About Me

Who in the world is this Chloe?  The name who signs off of each blog post, who sits on the other side of this screen?

She's a board game fanatic.  Her form of entertainment is reading random autobiographies.  She can never remember people's names, but can tell you exactly where she met them - which usually only scares them a little. When she was sixteen, she went to a Steubenville conference and it changed her life.

She's human.

She is scared to death of fish.  She hates letting people down.  She always read the last chapter of a book first because she hates surprises.

She's flawed.

And she is here.  Here on this blog for you to laugh (hopefully with and not at her), learn and live with. To learn more about another human beings through her random ramblings.

But more importantly, not just to learn about her, but about the one who made her.

That's right - this is one of "those blogs."

With a cute banner and a catchy introduction page, but once you read the innards of the posts, it may turn out that you may not like Chloe as much as you thought you did.

She is old fashioned.

Because she is not afraid to call it as she sees it.  Because she's not afraid to grow.  Because sometimes change isn't always for the better, and culturally acceptable forward movements can turn out to be backward.

She's a rebel.

It doesn't seem as if those two words could mix, right? Old fashioned and rebel?  But they can.

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Romans 12:12

Intrigued?  Read along with her through this journey.  She doesn't know where God is going to lead her - it would be so much easier if she did!  But she knows God has a plan that is bigger than her wildest dreams.

It's going to be full of a girl after God's own heart.

It's going to be messy.

It's going to be an adventure.

  1. Hi, Chloe,

I find the link to your blog on Catholic Answers Forum. It's nice to meet another Catholic teenager who is homeschooled! I also like music and writing, as well as a special interest in all things British. Feel free to visit my own blog: "Longbows and Rosary Beads." You can find the link by clicking on my username "Pearl of Tyburn."

    God Bless!

    1. Hi Pearl!

Thanks so much for the comment - I'm so glad you found the blog! I visited your blog, and as a lover of poetry, I couldn't help but follow it. From one Catholic homeschooled teenager to the other, may God bless you this Lent!

      God bless,

  2. Hello,
I pray you are doing well. Firstly, I want to let you know that it has been a joy keeping up with your blog, and it has been a pleasure to read. My name is Corey Hubbard, and I am one of the Managers of ‘Fire of the Spirit’ Teen Group. We are a Catholic teen group devoted to the evangelization and awakening of Catholic teenagers everywhere, both in the beliefs of the Church and the importance of the world we live in. Currently, our mission encompasses a bi-monthly magazine, (soon to come) YouTube Channel, and a blog which will be opening in a few weeks. You can find more information about our group on: http://www.fireofthespirit.com.

I actually have a job proposition for you. ‘Fire of the Spirit’ has grown immensely over the past couple of years, and as time has gone by my team and I have been trying to come up with ways to help other teens on the web: most especially by giving them the tools to be seen by a greater audience. Just looking around on the web, it is amazing to see all the talent and gifts present in all of my brothers and sisters in Christ, but I always am disappointed at how little you all are seen. At the moment we are looking to partner with different Catholic bloggers on the web, so as to create one unified blog where everyone can be seen in one place. This way our group can drive as many views to you all as possible, and your missions may be noticed by an even larger audience.

The way our blog would run is that you, along with many other bloggers, would write up a post whenever you felt inclined too and then email it to the blog manager. He would then go through the posts he received for the week and decide what will be posted for that week. Afterwards, a group of teens would go through the posts submitted and give out advice on how to improve future posts (which you can choose to use or not). In exchange for you posting on our blog, you would receive permanent advertising on our website, and would be on our blogging member page; including a short biography about yourself, your blog, and a hyperlink to it.

Sorry this comment is huge XD. Please email me if you have any questions or would like more information at: fireofspiritmagazine@gmail.com. Keep up the good work, I am praying for you! God bless.
    In Christ through Mary-
    Corey H.
